“Many, many thanks to everyone who helped to make the 'Cream Teas' fund raising effort at Downwell Cottage on November 13th, such a successful event. We made the grand total of £837.50 for the Muttom Tsunami Appeal. It was a most enjoyable afternoon with a wonderful result." Marion Stockwell and Gill Tysoe
The support given by people in our benefice and villages to the Muttom project over the last year has been wonderful. You will all be pleased to know that the purchase of the land for the new St Adrian’s Reachout Centre, is almost completed. We visited the site during our recent visit and it is a wonderful plot overlooking the sea near the village. The next stage is to raise £25,000 or so for the construction of the building, which will have overnight accommodation for our wonderful children, a sewing centre, a computer centre, space for some elderly people, and a prayer room.
These children are all from families of up to 8 children and live in refugee camps. At most, each family has 12 square feet of space. And just look at their smiling faces! They come each evening for homework, play and a nourishing meal.
Come to a meeting at Selling Village Hall, Saturday 4th February 7.30 p.m. when all our supporters can hear the news from Muttom, meet the children, see the photos, and see the plans for the building and discuss how we can support this project in the future.
With love Adrian and Jill
