The SARC Sewing Project Gets Going

Thanks to the generosity of the Coventry North Rotarians, and the Coventry Football Club supporters who donated so much money, SARC has now inaugurated its sewing school. Mothers of our children and other local women will be able to learn how t male saris and blouses and other clothing and so earn much needed money. This is all part of our work in creating opportunities for women, and to give them the ability to earn money for their families. Traditionally these coastal fishing villages do not encourage women to contribute to the family finances, but with changes in the fishing since the tsunami, attitudes are now changing.
